I can still her his unique voice and see his smile.....always positive and excited about the world around him. I met Dennis through my job at the Pasadena Museum of History. He curated a fabulous exhibition called "Wheels of Change". The show was about the history of the bicycle....surprise! It was an extremely popular exhibition with a series of wonderful public programs. It was all fueled by Dennis's infectious energy. He even charmed Huell Howser into doing a show about the the Museum and the legacy of the bike. Over the years he has been a great friend of the Museum and regardless to say, a friend of mine. I will miss him. His next exhibition at the Museum was going to be about the history of aviation. He wanted to concentrate on the early years when people were making planes in their garages. He showed me numerous pictures of weird contraptions that had been made in Pasadena or Altadena. Of course, he gave credit to bicycle technology for both the success of aviation and the automobile. I like to think of Dennis with his own invention, part cycle, part motor bike, part plane, soaring through the heavens above.
